1. Identity Verification

Autos de América uses a 3-tier verification system:

  • Basic: Email and phone number confirmation.
  • Verified seller: Basic verification + ID document photo + selfie with ID.
  • Verified agency: Business registration verification (business ID / tax ID).

Verified users receive visible badges:

  • Identity verified
  • Phone verified
  • Dealer verified

2. Data Protection

All personal information is stored securely with encryption. Identity documents are never shared publicly or used for purposes other than verification.

3. Reporting System

Users can report:

  • Listings with false information or misleading photos
  • Suspicious seller or agency profiles
  • Scam attempts or suspicious payment requests
  • Threatening behavior or harassment
  • Spam or duplicate listings

Severity Levels

  • High severity: Scams, threats, criminal activity → Immediate user block and urgent review.
  • Medium severity: False information, suspicious listings → Manual review and possible listing suspension.
  • Low severity: Spam, minor errors → User warning (maximum 3 strikes).

4. Response Times

  • Urgent reports: 24 hours
  • General support: 48 hours

5. Activity Monitoring

For security purposes, the platform records IP address, device information, and user activity. This information is used exclusively to detect and prevent fraudulent activities.

6. Reputation System

Each user has a history that may include:

  • Clean history (no reports)
  • Previous reports received
  • Previously suspended account

This system helps identify and prevent fraudulent user activities.
