Autos de América collects personal information solely for identity verification and marketplace security purposes, in compliance with Costa Rica's Law No. 8968 on Personal Data Protection.

1. Data We Collect

We collect the following types of data:

  • Personal information: Full name, email address, phone number, date of birth, nationality.
  • Identity documents: Photo of valid ID document (both sides), identification number, real-time photo with ID.
  • Vehicle information: Published vehicle data (brand, model, year, VIN, plate, photos, description).
  • Usage data: IP address, device information, platform activity.

2. How We Use Data

  • Identity verification of users and agencies
  • Marketplace security and fraud prevention
  • Facilitating contact between buyers and sellers
  • Improving the platform experience

3. Data Retention

Personal data is retained while the account remains active. When an account is closed, data is deleted within 30 days, except where legally required to retain it.

4. How to Request Data Deletion

In accordance with Law 8968, you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data at any time. Send your request to soporte@autosdeamerica.com and we will process your request within the legally established timeframe.

5. Sharing Data with Third Parties

Autos de América does not share personal data with third parties without the user's explicit consent. When sharing information with financial entities for financing offers, prior user authorization will be required through a consent checkbox.

6. Data Protection

We commit to:

  • Protecting all personal data with adequate security measures
  • Never sharing identity documents publicly
  • Never using personal data for purposes other than those described in this policy
  • Never storing data without appropriate security measures

7. Legal Compliance

This policy complies with Costa Rica's Law No. 8968 on Protection of Persons Regarding the Processing of Their Personal Data. Our database is registered with the Agency for the Protection of Inhabitants' Data (PRODHAB).
